The Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) is not a military alliance like NATO and the regional body has no intention to target any country, SCO Secretary-General Rashid Alimov said Tuesday.
At the 15th SCO summit in Ufa on 10 July 2015, Rashid Alimov was appointed SCO Secretary-General from 1 January 2016 to 31 December 2018. He holds the diplomatic rank of the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary. He is also the author of 13 books and over 50 articles on international relations published in academic journals in China, Kazakhstan, Russia and Tajikistan.
The expansion of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) carries historical significance as India and Pakistan become full members of the bloc, SCO leaders said Friday.
